Invitations, Games, Crafts, and More!
December 1, 2007
Gr 3-6-An attractive, girl-friendly compendium of party-planning ideas. All of the basics are covered, such as house rules, what to make/buy, "Top l0 Things to Get Straight before the Party," invitations, menus, music, and more. A profile quiz helps hostesses select an appropriate theme, such as "Sports Night," "Under the Stars," "Bookworm Bash," "Music Party," "Glam Girl Party," and "Stage Night Soiree." Quotes from kids are interspersed throughout, and boxed sidebars provide Q&A advice. The eight "icebreakers" are unique and fun, and can also be used in conjunction with library programming. Dozens of indoor and outdoor games, "10 Steps to a Great Spa Party," and craft ideas are briefly described. The chapter on food includes snacks, dinners, desserts, breakfasts, and goodie-bag ideas."Augusta R. Malvagno, Queens Borough Public Library, NY"
