Los Angeles celebrities (all fictional) star in Wyatt’s debut, the first in her Bodyguard Series. Former child TV star Sierra Blake is a spokeswoman for Choices, a woman’s health organization, after a wild streak during her teenage years led her to the nonprofit. Someone who has a grudge against the reproductive-rights group begins targeting her. A red-dyed diaper is thrown at her; then someone breaks into her home. She hires bodyguard Sean Owens, impressed by his quiet confidence and the instant pull between them. Sean, a former minor-league baseball player, gave up his career to help his dad with his security firm, though his failure to save someone 10 years earlier haunts him. Rising tensions as the attacks accelerate, incandescent sex scenes, and a believable villain make this a compelling read.
