The Essential Principles from America's Greatest Prosperity Teacher
June 15, 2015
This collection of handpicked scripts from the past several years of radio shows by motivational speaker and author Proctor (Proctor Gallagher Inst.; Thoughts Are Things) is comprised of 65-plus principles, with two pages devoted to each, making for a quick read. The techniques are ordered alphabetically and can be read in this manner, or one may choose to focus on a single method or even pick randomly for a dash of personal development. Although there are no new concepts here, the book offers a simple and quick reminder that people have the power to change their attitude and that immediate action can be taken to make successful life choices. A consistent theme is that positive thinking is not enough, we must take action to produce a difference, which is a great lesson for everyone. Regrettably, Proctor's principles remain superficial and formulaic and would have benefited from further development, producing a stronger motivational book. VERDICT For established fans of Proctor or those who like their motivation in simple, bite-sized quantities.--Melissa Keegan, Ela Area P.L., Lake Zurich, IL
