The Montana Hamiltons by New York Times bestselling author B.J. Daniels
He's meant to protect her, but what is this cowboy keeping from her about the danger she's facing?
As the daughter of a presidential candidate, Cassidy Hamilton left the Montana family ranch to escape notoriety and live her own life. But when someone tries to abduct her off a Houston sidewalk, Cassidy finds protection in the tall, dark and sexy form of cowboy Jack Durand. The gorgeous Texan doesn't recognize her, wants nothing from her and is determined to keep her safe.
Jack hates keeping secrets from the beautiful Cassidy, but he knows more about her kidnapping attempt than he's admitting. Forced on the run, Jack and Cassidy begin piecing together a jagged family puzzle, exposing a plot years in the making—one that will either tear them apart or bring them closer together than ever.

In this unsatisfying and sometimes distressing contemporary, the Montana Hamiltons (Lucky Shot) are embroiled in a complicated plot that started before the first of the six Hamilton sisters was born. The danger has ramped up since their father entered the presidential race. Meanwhile, their mother, Sarah, who was missing and presumed dead, has returned to their home in Montana with no memory from the years she was absent. Cassidy Hamilton just wants to escape her family drama; instead she’s lured to Houston and nearly kidnapped, but rancher Jack Durand provides timely rescue. Immediately on the run, Jack and Cassidy discover surprising ties that connect their two families and bring them back to Montana to unwisely confront Cassidy’s mother. Daniels alienates new readers by focusing on drawn-out, interwoven story lines with many different characters rather than building a foundation of attraction and trust between Cassidy and Jack. The author further sacrifices believability when the couple is pulled apart and put back together for a forced “happy” ending in a manner that will appall readers seeking a realistic premise in a contemporary romance.
