A landscape architect at Blue Arrow Lake, Brett Walker knows that a little rich girl like Angelica Rodriguez, and a SoCal "flatlander" to boot, is the last thing he needs. But with Angelica's father's arrest for fraud and his theft of her personal funds, her situation has changed. When Brett learns that Angelica is living in her car, he has to get involved. Anticipation sizzles between them, and though they fight the chemistry, it's only a matter of time before they finally succumb. A string of puzzling burglaries and a sweet secondary romance add interest, while a number of characters from earlier books reappear to update their stories. VERDICT A pair of oddly matched protagonists lay some old ghosts to rest and find love in a steamy story that sees the eldest Walker sibling married. Ridgway (Make Me Lose Control) lives in Southern California.
